The title of the project is the hexadecimal code that simulates the photographic grey card, representing a mid-tone between white and black. The work presented here was part of the fringe festival running in parallel with Look/17 and curated by the Open Eye Gallery. The exhibited images set out to explore how contemporary photography can be used to find new ways of reading and responding to the city. Much of our contemporary life is turned into data, even our emotional and personal responses to the world around us, this body of work utilises experimentation as a research method to develop original visual systems to present data and urban imagery in innovative ways. This work is attempting to develop a new aesthetic, moving beyond just using photography as documentation and employing experimental post-production processes that incorporate colour codes.
