Fire

I've been cycling past this plant on the canal towpath every day on the way to work observing it blaze and flame with increased drama. I couldn't resist visiting today to make it's portrait before it settles quietly into the background for winter.

Death On The Canal

One of the things I love about this slightly drier and warmer weather is being able to cycle down the Bridgewater Canal to work and back. It really is an amazing commute and imbued with history. This leg of the canal was started in 1762, now restored and well used by canal boat residents, cyclists and dog walkers alike. The trams run parallel on what would have been the old rail route, probably what killed off the working canals in the first place. Anyway as my Olympus Pen (digital) is so small I keep it tucked in my bag now at all times and have started recording life and death along this stretch. So these are a couple of images from today.
